December 31st 2009
Dear Community Champion,
It gives me great pleasure to bring you up to date, with accountability and transparency, on all that ASK Academy has accomplished this year! We are working smart and making our Vision and Mission a sustainable reality; keeping schools and their surrounding communities safe and productive; supporting Equitable Learning and Social Justice.
Through Education, Economics and Entertainment ASK Academy advances, identifies, prioritizes and implements successful intervention strategies. Right now, our effective leadership programs are positively impacting communities nationwide in schools, after school programs and community-based organizations. We help Policy Makers and Decision Makers accomplish 3 major goals:
1. Bridging the digital divide between affluent communities and underserved populations.
2. Providing leadership trainings for thousands of youth and adults working to improve social institutions.
3. Producing public events: including, music concerts, film festivals, internet radio, You Tube channels, and public television. ASK Academy integrates capital, technology and information across California and nationwide by getting computers, digital equipment, educational software, and live leadership training to Schools, Juvenile Detention Centers, Foster Homes & Community Based Organizations/Non-Profits.
Selected Recent Accomplishments:
• Implementing youth led micro-businesses in: Facilitation training, Recycling, Aromatherapy and Executive Car Services.
• Training over 200 volunteer mentors for schools, foster care homes, and youth jails.
• Training 30 ASK Academy Youth Council members serving as Community Leaders.
• Providing group mentoring to 185 youth from all SFUSD schools.
• Serving over 11,500 youth nationally, including California, Louisiana, Texas, Michigan,
and Alabama.
With your kind support, in 2010 ASK Academy promises to continue promoting quality programs and services; leading to a healthy environment for all. Additionally, by improving educational and economic opportunities for low-income youth, we create more options and less poverty, resulting in significant reductions in crimes such as theft, gang violence, homicide, and drug abuse.
Most important of all, thanks in advance for supporting our 2010 Change Maker Campaign (100 people giving $100 in 100 days). Your investment plays a key role in sustaining these much-needed community services. You will help serve our youth in ways that are relevant to their needs and interest.
Wishing you and yours blessings!

Dear Friend,
You are among the first to learn of ASK Academy’s goals and accomplishments! ASK has recently received fiscal sponsorship from the Agape Foundation!
Through Peace Education, Economic Justice and Progressive Arts and Media ASK works to:
*Improve the delivery of services to the underserved
*Expand assistance to underserved segments of California
*Facilitate access to the democratic process for marginalized
populations
*Advocate on behalf of underserved populations
*Mobilize underserved communities to secure necessary services
or assistance
Thank you for believing in ASK’s mission to promote Education, Economics and Entertainment. We hope that you will be inspired to support the amazing services that we are able to provide to our future leaders. Our goal for 2009 is to train 15 – 20 youth leaders to train and provide services to 1,500 youth up to age 25. For less than a cup of coffee a day you will help a youth receive Mentoring in Leadership, Financial Intelligence and Technological Literacy.
ASK Academy relies solely on contributions from individuals, foundations and corporations to make our programs possible. We need you now more than ever, to give as generously as you can to help create safe and welcoming environments that support Equitable Learning and Social Justice. Your investment will increase the critical services so badly needed by our youth. Remember, your donation will make the difference between services and no services.
And now, if you give a gift of $100 or more, you will join the ChangeMakers Group, a special group of donors who share ASK’s confidence in being a fearless promoter of nonviolent social change. As a ChangeMaker’s member, you will be recognized in our newsletter and annual report.
As we look forward to a new year, a new vision, and a new president, we urge you to give hope for even greater changes in the world. Please give to ASK today.
Our warmest wishes to you and yours,
ASK Academy

P.S. If not for yourself, give to ASK for someone you care about. A donation in honor, or in memory, of a friend or family member makes a very special gift.
